Developing a business takes time, expertise, and the ability to make the right choices. Still, many are not aware that privately owned companies located in district municipalities in Southern Rogaland can access subsidized advisory services and the full range of TEAL’s offerings through the "Næringshageprogram" (Siva). For businesses, this can mean more than “just” advisory support. It can be an opportunity to strengthen the company over time - whether the goal is to further develop operations, explore new market opportunities, or create clearer structure and direction. The "Næringshageprogram" is a national initiative led by Siva, established to strengthen business development in rural areas through long-term, targeted support for companies. As a "næringshage" and Siva partner, TEAL uses the "Næringshageprogram" to support businesses over time, offering advisory and development services based on each company’s situation, ambitions, and local context.
The program creates room for more structured development - whether that means clarifying direction and priorities, exploring new opportunities, or building a more robust foundation for long-term value creation.
The program is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups located in rural areas, with the ambition and capacity to further develop their businesses. In this context, SMEs are defined as companies with fewer than 100 employees and annual revenue below EUR 50 million.
At TEAL, we have particular expertise and experience within food, beverages, and tourism - fields that encompass a wide range of business models. We work with everything from farms developing additional income streams, to established companies with several employees, as well as smaller operations where one person manages most aspects of the business. The common denominator is a desire to continue developing, with advisory services tailored to needs and challenges typical of these sectors.
At the same time, TEAL also offers services outside the programt, supporting companies that want to move forward regardless of whether they are located in rural municipalities.
The program applies to privately owned companies established in district municipalities. TEAL’s area of operation includes parts of Stavanger (formerly Finnøy and Rennesøy), as well as Kvitsøy, Hjelmeland, Sokndal, and Lund. Certain types of businesses are not eligible for the program, including larger corporate structures, publicly owned enterprises, financial institutions, and other innovation organizations.
Our Newest "Målderifter"
A "målbedrift" is a business that participates in the program and receives advisory and development support over time, based on its own needs and ambitions. Recently, Epleriet and Hanasand Honning og Bær became "målbedrifter".
Epleriet is an event venue and farm shop on Helgøy, beautifully situated in an orchard overlooking the Fisterfjord. Building on its own fruit production, Epleriet offers food and experiences based on local ingredients, along with a variety of events throughout the year.
Hanasand Honning og Bær produces haskap berries - also known as honeyberries - and processes them into products such as juice and freeze-dried powder. Haskap berries are known for their high content of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, and are internationally recognized as a highly nutritious berry.
Although Epleriet and Hanasand Honning og Bær are very different businesses, they share a common ambition to continue developing. Through the program, they gain access to advisory services at a reduced cost, supporting further development and sustainable value creation over time.
