On Thursday, September 11th, the very first edition of What’s Growing took place at Tou Scene in Stavanger. With a packed conference room, a strong professional program, and passionate engagement from the audience, it turned into an inspiring day that brought together the full breadth of the green sector.
On stage, speakers from various parts of the industry shared their insights - from researchers and producers to market experts and industry organizations. Topics ranged from energy and resource use to technology, market trends, and the food systems of the future.
The enthusiasm and response from participants were evident throughout the day. As Ola Hedstein, CEO of Rethink Food, wrote on his Facebook page:
“This was a good and inspiring conference about the opportunities for growth and development in the green sector. Norwegian greenhouses are entering a new era. Thanks to TEAL for creating a new arena for the green industry.”
Strong Interest and Ambitions for the Future
The response and participation clearly show that the interest is there – and that there is a need for a platform like this.
“It was a great day filled with good conversations. So nice to see so much engagement, and we’re aiming to organize a new conference in 2026 or 2027,” says Tove Sivertsen, CEO of TEAL.
We have big ambitions for the further development of What’s Growing. The goal is to create a national arena that highlights the people, technologies, and knowledge shaping the green value chain of the future. Next time, we hope to combine the conference with an exhibition, company visits, and open events for the public.
A big thank you to all the speakers, participants, and partners who made this year’s conference possible!
