In just a few years, OmCider has built a modern cider house in Hjelmeland. With clear values and strong ambitions, they have developed both the company and the brand — creating distinctive local drinks.
The story
OMCider was established in 2019, after powerful hailstorms precipitated new plans for the farm. One year later, the siding was ready, with 17,000 apple trees and 2,700 morel trees as the basis and the production of cider was already underway in the same year. The sides have already received recognition in competitions such as CiderWorld Frankfurt, the Sider World Cup in Bergen and the International Brewing & Cider Awards.
Road selection and development
The need for more structure led to a collaboration with TEAL, which has contributed business model support, audience mapping, profiling and application work. Through the collaboration, OMCider has put in place a clear vision and a strategy for further growth. The work has also included product range, design and page flavors — focusing on wholeness in operations and balance between production, market and identity.

After a season marked by both record deliveries and hail-damaged apples, the producer collaboration Ryfylkefrukt chose to focus on their own further processing.
The story
Ryfylkefrukt SA is a cooperative owned by 38 fruit producers from Jelsa in the north to Hofsherad in the south. Since its inception in 2017, volumes have increased significantly, and in 2024 a total of 590 tonnes were delivered for sorting. At the same time, heavy hail led to the fact that large quantities of fruit could not be sold as fresh. In order to take care of the values in the surplus fruit, a process was started to further refine the raw material.
Development and road selection
Through targeted development work, Ryfylkefrukt has gone from idea to finished product in a short period of time. A market clarification funded by Innovation Norway was initiated, followed by product development, equipment acquisitions and insights into packaging, storage and durability. In the process, they have received support from TEAL for, among other things, application work, market insight and linking with relevant stakeholders.
The result was Ryfylkejuice — an apple juice that is now sold in all Menu stores in Rogaland, selected Coop Mega stores and large farm outlets in Stavanger. The equipment is now being used for testing other raw materials through a work that aims to create new jobs and year-round operations. This work is also led by TEAL.

At Sæbø in Hjelmeland, Apal Sideri has established itself in a short time as an award-winning brand with an eye on international markets.
The story
As the next generation on the farm, Dan Olav Sæbø wanted to give the apples more value. He made his first cider and sent it for fun in to the World Cider Awards -- and took gold at the first attempt. The unexpected victory gave inspiration and courage to bet further. Since then, he has built Apal Stova as a tasting room, established a modern cider house and opened his own shop, where each section is planned to provide a holistic experience from visual identity and interiors to product portfolio and guest experiences.
Road selection and development
In collaboration with TEAL, a comprehensive strategy for operations, market, positioning and guest experiences has been developed. This has included concept manual, visual identity, product development, pricing models and year-round experiences for Apal Stova. Support has been brought in from Innovation Norway for investments and new hires, and the work has been targeted at the restaurant market. The result is a professionalized business with a distinct premium expression and with ambitions to compete in the international market.
