The Norwegian Meals — A tasty party night!

An evening celebrating the best of Norwegian food and drink

It was an inspiring and memorable evening when the whole Teal gang was present at Det Norske Målet in DNB Arena in Stavanger. The event was professionally conducted from start to finish, with a perfect combination of pride, excitement and entertainment. A big salute to the organisers for highlighting Norwegian food and drink culture in this way — and to honour the many producers who put in an impressive effort every day to deliver products of the highest quality.

The Norwegian Meal is one of Norway's most prestigious competitions for food and drink, and has for over 15 years highlighted the best the country has to offer in raw materials and products. Through thorough reviews by a professional jury of some of the country's top chefs and sommeliers, winners are selected in various categories — from cheese and meat to drinks and vegetables. The aim is to highlight the diversity, innovation and quality of Norwegian food production, and inspire further development throughout the value chain.

We were especially proud to be able to welcome three of our partners; Blackberries from Jone Wiig, Silversides from Apal Sideri and Mak Kimchi from Eimealt, all of whom were finalists in their categories. It is a great achievement to reach this far in one of Norway's most prestigious competitions for food and drink.

The evening was extra special when Jærberry went all the way to the top and won the award in the Green of the Year category! A wonderful recognition for the innovative work on strawberry production in greenhouses at Orre, where the berries are grown with full control of climate and quality throughout the year. Congratulations to Jone Wiig! We also congratulate the Norwegian Rural Women's Team with the well-deserved honorary award — an important recognition of their efforts for food culture, tradition and community through generations.

Det Norske Målet is an exemplary initiative that really highlights the breadth and quality of Norwegian food production. The evening gave us new inspiration, pride to work closely with so many talented producers — and not least an even greater motivation to follow the development further. We are already looking forward to next year!
